Layla aka "Beanz" - Founder & Creative Director

Layla founded Cool Beanz Flag Football in 2025 at just 9 years old, turning her passion for the game into a business that celebrates flag football players everywhere.

Layla has loved football her whole life. She has been playing flag football since she was 7, competing on all-girls teams and building a community of friends who share her love for the sport. As a proud Baltimore Ravens fan and type 1 diabetes advocate, she knows what it means to be part of a team both on and off the field. Having diabetes since age 5, one of her main goals is to earn enough money to be able to donate to diabetes research for a cure.

The idea for Cool Beanz Flag Football came from a simple observation: Layla couldn't find enough apparel that represented her love for flag football. She saw the sport growing rapidly and knew she wasn't the only one out there who wanted to show pride in the game. So she decided to create what was missing.

The nickname "Beanz" has been with her since before she was born—her family started calling her that because she was small and bean-shaped in her mom's belly, and it stuck. Now, it's the heart of Cool Beanz Flag Football.

When it came time to create a logo for the company, Layla chose her favorite animal: a penguin. Meet Berry, our sunglasses-wearing, blueberry-loving mascot who represents the fun, cool spirit of flag football.

Today, Layla runs Cool Beanz Flag Football alongside her parents and her brother Evan, creating unique designs for t-shirts, hoodies, accessories, and more...all made by flag football players, for flag football players.
